I really love being a part of so many people’s Christmas mornings! It’s always an honor and I don’t take it lightly! These are a few illustrations I had the opportunity to create for some very special people. I hope everyone is feeling the love of Christ this morning and I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

On this Thanksgiving morning of the year 2020, this is all that comes to mind. If I have learned anything since the calendar hit January 1 it is that this world has nothing for me. Nothing to rest in. Nothing to hold onto. Nothing to be sure of. It’s Jesus.

Only Jesus.

Always has. Always will. Always will be. He is what lasts. He is what remains. He is the King. And his heart is ever for me.

So I know He is good because He is not defined by what I see. He is defined by grace. Mercy. Kindness. Redemption. Salvation.

Hallelujah! Give me Jesus.

But really though, I love these things. It’s my current favorite fruit that I can’t quit. So why not draw it?! It’s giving me all the summer feels too which goes perfectly with the Alabama weather this week! I also think it would be cute framed in a kitchen too?!

“His faithful hand has held me all this way...”

I replayed this song over and over in my head as I tried to fall asleep last night. Sleep has been really hard to come by since everything went into weird in March. I feel like I’m grieving what I expected this year to look like. I feel like I’m wondering what there is to look forward to since so much is uncertain in the day to day. I feel nervous to hope for a better ending to the second half of 2020. I feel the weight of social media/news, the sadness that our country is feeling, the emptiness of cancelled plans and monotonous days, the disappointment of it all and the fear of what could come...
•
But no one ever cared for me like Jesus. He’s taking care of me. And of you. And it might not feel like it today. But he is working always and he works in ways we don’t understand and it’s all for one goal: our best and his glory. Just because we can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not true. Best case scenario is always ours to have: He’s already in the future and he will be there with us when it happens.

So we believe the best about God. We rest in his character. This is going to be good and no one else in this world cares for you like He does.

CANNOT. GET. ENOUGH. OF. HAMILTON. I watched it for the first time this week and I can’t quit it. I’m in so so deep and I don’t even care. Let me be me. I love Angelica. I love George Washington. I love Laurens. I love Thomas Jefferson. I LOVE IT ALL. And I’ve watched it 3 times since Sunday. What I would GIVE to be able to belt out “Satisfied” like the boss is... I MEAN. The Schuyler Sisters are my kind of sisters! Anyone else having a hard time not playing the soundtrack on repeat like me?!

“We aren’t living in a question. We aren’t living in uncertainty with a Sovereign God.”

Are you kidding? But like we 10000% are. Everything feels the most uncertain of all times. What is this school year going to look like for me as a school counselor? How do I effectively serve students who aren’t present? When will I get to go back into a church building and worship as a whole? Will I have to wear a mask in public for the rest of 2020? Will we have football for heaven’s sake? SO MANY UNKNOWNS.

I read this quote this morning and got slapped real good in the face because I’m looking at it all through the world’s perspective. Naturally so. But when I do that I also forget God. I forget that nothing is uncertain with God. He’s more than informed. More than sure. He knows what’s next and he’s got the answers. He’s already there. He’s been there. And he’s the most certain thing we have. If there’s ANYTHING I have learned in all this mess it’s that. “His appearance is as sure as the dawn (Hosea 6:3).” I’ve never been concerned about the sun’s rising. I’ve never wondered if it would forget to show up in the morning. It has never crossed my mind to worry about these things. It’s what my brain knows. May it also know that he’s even more faithful than the sun. And just as the sun hasn’t failed in its job to be present each day then my God, the SOVEREIGN King of 2020, will show up ever more. Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.

So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes.

The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!” Hallelujah! Our King is alive! Hope is here! Happy Easter, everyone!

“Yet I still dare to hope...”

I read this sentence a few days ago and I didn’t know that I needed to. I’ve been talking about hope with my counselor the past few weeks. How hope is risky. How hope feels dangerous. How hope asks you to still believe in it no matter the outcome. And it’s sometimes it’s just flat out hard to choose. But I got the chance to send this to a sweet friend of mine who is in the thick of fighting for hope as a reminder that the Author of hope is not in this to make us miserable but to make us need him the most. And as I wake up this morning to see the devastation in Nashville I am reminded that our hope in Jesus isn’t taken by the winds or by a change in circumstances. He remains. Still. So yet I still dare to hope.

I’ve been MIA for a little bit but I have been working on some really cool projects. Like this one. YALL, this right here owns me. I got to partner with and make some prints for their trip to give to different schools/homes as they visit these locations on mission in Kenya. I simply cannot wrap my brain around these pictures. It’s all too good. Like overwhelmingly good. The joy I feel in my heart as I keep coming back to these makes me want to run laps around the room. And I’m over the top grateful for this opportunity to provide the love and the truth of our Heavenly Father this way. Thank you, , for the beautiful and eternal work you are doing.
