Join Tushar Cheke (Meditation Teacher) and Kevin Michael Murphy (Voice Teacher) for an experiential 3 hour voice and meditation workshop.

In a world full of constant chaos, we are going to spend a Sunday morning connecting to our breath, to our voice, to our Self, and most importantly to the present moment. You will learn a short 15 minute meditation practice that you can bring into daily life.

The theme of the workshop will be “Embracing the Now” We will engage in group discussion, we will sing a bit, and end the day with a small home cooked vegetarian meal.

That’s a wrap on the Spring 2026 Karaoke Class! Really going to miss this group. Each class has their own personality- and this one in particular was a joy and had a truly top rate taste in music.

Over the past 4 weeks we explored singing karaoke through the lens of the body, the voice, and expression. We discussed the secrets of what makes a perfect karaoke song. This class continues to be a real time testing ground for the belief that group singing brings people together. A group of nervous systems sharing a love of music, grooving out to a sick beat, being silly, and connecting over shared feelings of nostalgia and joy! This week I had the pleasure of teaching a group of voice teacher colleagues in Body Based Voice Pedagogy. We’re a community led by Jeremy Mossman , who explore a variety of topics around the art and science of singing and teaching singing. Over the past few weeks we’ve been exploring what it takes to move our singing from “Practice to Performance.” On Monday, I led the group through an experiential lesson I call “the Proprioception Warmup.” We explored how waking up our brain’s awareness of our body in space, our feet’s relationship to the ground, and our eyes’s ability to interact with our environment, are all “silent” things we can do to prepare our full self(brain, body, nervous system, etc) to be present and ready to sing. Karaoke Class is back starting April 27 and is open to all levels of experience.

It’s all about fun, nostalgia, and deeply connecting to songs you know and love! We’ve created a low-stress, highly supportive environment where you can let loose, learn, and cheer each other on.

We’ll be exploring the art of karaoke through:

The 4 week Karaoke Class is back this February. All levels welcome. Today is my last teaching day of 2025. I’m not gonna lie it’s been a long one. Scrolling on social media had me feeling like I didn’t do enough this year. Then I started to list everything that happened and I honestly couldn’t believe it.

This year I taught 891 voice lessons.

I taught 3 Karaoke Classes, 2 Pop Up Choirs, and produced a Studio Show.

I was the guest Clinician at a week long Choir Festival on Long Island

I was interviewed by 2 magazines

I was on Faculty at the 2 Week Summer Intensive

I recorded a cover of a Chappell Roan ’s “Coffee” with

I judged an International Singing Competition

I organized group field trips to Live Band Karaoke and Karaoke Brunch

I taught a holistic voice workshop to a group of Pilates Teachers

I finished my first year of Feldenkrais Practitioner Training (3 more to go)

I played a singing/dancing Chestnut with Joe Iconis and Family at 54 Below

I got to share a stage singing some Joni Mitchell with 2 of my wonderful friends and students

A year of weekly zoom calls with and my brilliant Body Based Voice Ped colleagues

I wrote some songs that I hope to share with the world one day

I celebrated students and their wins both big and small

Thank you to my amazing community of singers. Thank you to supportive colleagues who keep me thinking. Thanks to both groups for your friendship. I’m looking forward to a restful break and can’t wait to see you all in 2026!
