Today, we mourn the loss of a true original. Gloria Steinem was a trailblazer, a revolutionary, a feminist icon, and a force unlike any other. She didn’t simply speak about change. She helped create it. Through her groundbreaking work with Ms. Magazine, the Ms. Foundation for Women, and a lifetime spent fighting for equality, opportunity, and the voices of women to be heard, Gloria changed the world and inspired generations to believe they could help change it, too. She was brilliant. Fearless. Feminine. Unapologetic. Powerful. And Funny! Perhaps most importantly, she was one of a kind. Gloria Steinem showed us that strength and femininity were never opposites. She made space for others to stand taller, speak louder, and imagine lives that generations before them had been told were impossible. Her voice will be missed. Her presence cannot be replaced. But the doors she opened, the people she inspired, and the movement she helped build will ensure that her impact is felt for generations to come. Gloria’s relationship with Carolines spanned many years and included the annual Ms. Foundation’s Women in Comedy benefit, which ran for 25 glorious years. Gloria had an incredible sense of humor, was always quick with a joke of her own, and often became part of the show herself. Rest in power, Gloria. Thank you for changing the world.
