Today, alongside a number of other theatrical institutions, we at LakehouseRanchDotPNG are announcing our commitment to adhering to the Palestinian international call for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions, and to comply with the Palestinian Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI). We are very grateful to for reaching out to us and helping us do the important work.
At LakehouseRanchDotPNG, we have often advocated for political action, human rights and liberation through the work we present to you on our stage here in South Florida, which is why we have committed to the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI).
As one of the few theatres in the state of Florida to do such, it can feel a little scary, but we feel we must stand for what is right.
Here at Lakehouse, we understand that we will never be free until all of us are free, and that we must do what we can as an institution to make our voices heard and to advocate for the oppressed. This is something we can actually do. This is an action as an institution that we can take.
We encourage our fellow theatre companies to do the same.
