Seats are filling up FAST! Its your last chance to grab your tickets for ‘To Be Frank’ – an afternoon summit on all things Hot Dog organized by dynamic artist duo Jen Catron [] + Paul Outlaw [] hosted at the landmark theater The Town Hall on Sunday June 9, from 12-5pm.

ON VIEW NOW 🌐‘Approximations of Utopia’ 🌐by Marco Brambilla, June’s is live across 95+ digital billboards every night this month through June 30 from 11:57pm to 12am.

Guest curated by Nato Thompson of Dreaming in Public [] and co-presented by , and , ‘Approximations of Utopia’ conjures the architecture of six historic World Expositions – New York (1964), Brussels (1958), Montreal (1967), Osaka (1970), Seville (1992), and Shanghai (2010) — to configure a new algorithmic utopia.

The Times Square presentation of ‘Approximations of Utopia’ coincides with the Queens Museum’s celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the 1964–65 New York World’s Fair, titled ‘Peace Through Understanding’ with a multi-platform digital initiative and forthcoming series of exhibitions to open November 2024 at the museum.

Artnet’s co-presentation of Brambilla’s Midnight Moment marks the second iteration of an ongoing partnership with Times Square Arts that celebrates digital art in the heart of New York City.

Jen Catron & Paul Outlaw’s ‘The Jungle (2020): Sent from my iPhone’ is a tragicomic operatic capitalist fantasia based on emails from influential meatpacking CEOs that disregarded CDC guidelines in the peak of the 2020 pandemic, leading to approximately 269 deaths, 59,000 COVID-19 cases...and a 300% profit increase.

We’ve all seen the hot dog strutting its stuff - but to be frank, we need to talk.

Join us in unpacking the critical issues just beneath the skin of our favorite handheld sausage. Enjoy an impressive lineup of panels and performances led by food historians, competitive eaters, street vendors, sausage makers, authors, activists, and artists drawing unexpected parallels between the history of the hot dog and capitalism, consumption, and politics of the American dream.

A show stopping roster of furry friends will be competing in swimwear, talent, and congeniality categories judged by special guests including the official Empire State Building pups, Tinkerbelle the Dog & Belle the Dog []! Hosted by Tony nominee , this completely unofficial preamble to the Westminster Dog Show unleashes the constructs of traditional Miss America Pageants to celebrate everyone’s favorite insta-famous pooches at the base of a humongous hot dog.

In May’s 🤳 ‘A Chorus’ 🤳 by Gabriel Barcia-Colombo [] everyday New Yorkers become a monumental ensemble that flips the script on spectacle and voyeurism in . Featuring over 100 individuals, many of whom either work in or frequent Times Square, the artwork draws a frame around the notion of community and the shared experiences that make up daily life in a post-pandemic New York City.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s ✨ ‘Life Forms’ ✨ by Tricia McLaughlin []! Presented in partnership with our collaborators at , and , for April’s , fantastical mutant creatures with cartoonish, glassy-eyes, brought to life through painting and 3D animation, mount buildings and scale scaffolding to construct a towering city despite looming danger.

Co-presented by Times Square Arts [] and , the crashing peaks of this month’s 🌬️ ‘Storms’ 🌬️ by , are on view in across 95+ billboards every night through March 31 from 11:57pm to 12am.

London-based Italian artist Quayola sat down with Jiayin Chen [] from Artnet to discuss the Midnight Moment and his creative process:
“In ‘Storms’ I wanted to create an experience that somehow simulates the original power of the seas, an experience at a scale that recalls the contemplation of a vast landscape. Also … there is another interesting connection between the ever-changing lights of Times Square and the scintillating reflections on the surface of the sea… almost like the lights are pulsating on the waves,” says artist Quayola.
