Today we are celebrating the incomparable Marilyn Monroe on what would have been the Hollywood starlet’s 100th birthday.
Fashion and celebrity photographer Milton H. Greene first met Monroe on a photoshoot for Look Magazine in 1953. The two quickly developed a close friendship and prolific working relationship, creating over 5,000 iconic photographs and two feature films together in the span of only four years. Their unique bond and comfortability is palpable in Greene’s images, with many citing his photographs as among the most genuine depictions of Monroe during her lifetime.
