They say Emily Dickinson lived a quiet life, but her words are anything but. 🕊️
I spent a lot of time with this collection while I was incarcerated. In those moments, her honesty became a mirror for my own. Her poems don't just speak; they aspire to a kind of truth that feels both heavy and light at the same time.
I like to think some of my own writing carries a piece of her spirit—that same need to look at the world and "tell all the truth but tell it slant." This book was a companion when I needed one most, and it continues to inspire the way I see and write today.
