Latest work in progress, a mural at Shenandoah Stables!
"Winnie"
She's life size and viewable at Shenandoah stables.
I used to go riding there as a kid. They are at a new location that is more beautiful and inspiring than the last. The new trail is canopied by large, majestic trees and Spanish moss. Ferns abundantly grow in their branches. More airplants than I've ever seen, crowded together in one location on other trees. A barred owl lives in these woods and watches the horses go by. I always feel excitement and more blessed that day, if I spot it on a ride.
I was lucky enough to be able to volunteer over the summer. I lived out a childhood dream of leading trail rides at Shenandoah. Their horses are fantastic and I love each one. Getting to know their individual history and personalities felt like an honor.
The owner, Alane Patterson, takes beautiful care of these horses. Each individual horse is under her watchful eye. Over the summer, I witnessed her compassion and dedication to ensuring personally that every daily need of theirs was met and attended to. She rescued many of them and you can tell that they know they are in good hands, here. Her sweet group of friends and boarders also help this place feel like a sanctuary.
I feel healthier and happier, for the experience.
My heart went above and beyond, out of gratitude, on this painting.
I'm about to do it again, soon. I've been commissioned to paint more and I'm excited to get started shortly after I finish this one 😀
Progression photos and descriptions on the way, not sure when.
