I handed over three copies of my book, Scaling Beyond Your Niche: Business Partnerships that Make Sense for You, to the Main Library at the UWI, Mona, today. I trust readers will make use of them. Thanks to the librarians, Ms Saunches and Ms Kean, for making this happen. Details of the book and where to grab copies are available at the link in my bio.

It’s time to breathe. We at the Institute of Caribbean Studies (ICS), UWI, Mona, have reached the halfway mark of our first round of short-course offerings, and I will declare the beginning a success, but the best is yet to come. Here is a look at my presentation at the launch of this initiative where I outlined my own vision for the Entertainment and Cultural Enterprise Management (ECEM) short courses program. The ICS stands ready to deliver the needed management training for the entertainment and culture sectors.

“As Jamaica seeks to maximize the benefits of tourism and creative enterprise, institutions such as the ICS have an important responsibility to help interpret, develop, and strengthen the sectors that drive economic and cultural growth,” said Kam-Au Amen a lecturer at the Institute. “We believe that better-trained professionals and entrepreneurs are essential to creating and managing the opportunities that will transform Jamaica’s entertainment, cultural, and tourism product.” For persons interested in the current offerings, you may visit the ICS website. The Institute of Caribbean Studies (ICS) in the Faculty of Humanities and Education at The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, is strengthening its commitment to the development of Jamaica’s entertainment, cultural, and tourism industries through the launch of its new Entertainment and Cultural Enterprise Management (ECEM) short course programme. “As Jamaica seeks to maximize the benefits of tourism and creative enterprise, institutions such as the ICS have an important responsibility to help interpret, develop, and strengthen the sectors that drive economic and cultural growth,” said Kam-Au Amen a lecturer at the Institute. “We believe that better-trained professionals and entrepreneurs are essential to creating and managing the opportunities that will transform Jamaica’s entertainment, cultural, and tourism product.” The first ECEM offerings include short courses in Event Planning and Design and Artist Management, with additional programmes scheduled for introduction in the coming months.
