et designer and was given a number to call . My ten years with the Brewery were informative , from recording shows , to set ups and becoming a puppeteer . Performing around the Tri-State area doing school shows to private parties , off Broadway and Clubs . Around 1987 I felt it was time to create my own company , so I recruited people I found up to the task , needless to say puppeteers are a very curious bunch and never boring . My first company was titled Rodz , A Puppet Company , I would use street performing to train the crew while also getting work doing parties , very simple marketing as old as the history of street perfoming itself , you get immediate feed back on what works and what doesn't , plus it's a nice way to spend the weekends in NYC Central Park . One big Petri Dish of Theatrical experimentation . Rodz Puppets performed at the Apollo Theater as invited guess Artist by Ralph Copper host of the Wednesday Amater hour , we were a hit and perfomed there for the hoildays , the 4th of July , Holloween , Thanksgiving , Xmas and Easter from 1989 to 92 . I started writting an producing children shows on subject matter I found interesting regarding various topics , please refer to performences listed below . The Story of Oafus , a tale addressing animals and their possible extinction do to hunting , how we can co-exist and protect them , the story of a Creature called the Oafus , hunted for his fur by Max the Hunter . The basic tale around Oafus is simple , he does his daily rouitine when he meets a Wizard Waldo who finds Oafus fun , gentle and kind so they hang out , then Waldo is on his way and runs into Max the Hunter who is out to find the Oafus , Waldo put a spell on him so Max finds Oafus to be just the funniest , laughing so hard he can get a shot , thus they become friends . A Beat In Time , a look into Afro-Percusion an how it has effected Music , The World of Mr. Samuri , Scramlet where Shakespere meets Hip-Hop , A Night with Mr. Gritts for Cabret , and a work that has been a long time project Lands Beyond the MOON a space Adventure that is planned for You Tube , and The World of the Castle Critters , which came to be the new name of the company . I had spent a great deal of thought about what kind of staging to create and again would use my performances in the park to test the concepts . I was always fond of castles as a kid so I made my first castle stage around 1995 , set it up one morning only to have a small boy run over to it so excited an shout to his dad , look dad a castle " Thats so Cool " and never turning back the Castle Critters were born . The response was the same where ever the castle went , private events an schools were calling , the shows in the parks reaped good returns . I have also had the fortune of performing with George Clintons Parliament Funkadelic for several years in NYC at various venues , it started when a friend called me with some tickets to catch a show , I had a german shepard puppet that I dressed as the Atomic Dog , meet my friend went to the show and pulled him out as the song came on , the stunt was a big hit , George loved it an had his manager speak to me and invited me to every show there after , so from 1993 to 1997 there was my puppet , the fans loved it . I now began to turn my sights to produced a Public Access cable show that would air twice a month on The Manhattan Neighborhood Network in NYC from 1995 to 1999 , the show feature artist , musicans , excerpts from some of my stories , with a cast of puppets known as the Critters along with my sons Armand and Max as co-host . The Castle Critters also had the opportunity to work with the Rappin Fireman of the NYC fire Deptment teaching fire safety in schools around NYC from 2011 to 2013 which then brought us to do some Circus work as well from 2012 to 2013 sorry to say that those cable show were lost but now I plan to bring it to You Tube , so in closing the photos that are here is just a fraction of my work , but I have been passionly involved with puppetry since 1977 to the present an look forward to producing and traveling to Europe an Japan to perfom an study , Hope you enjoy the work
