The Movement Dance Convention

The Movement Dance Convention Dance classes are available all day long! Your choice of whatever class you want.

It has been our dream to broaden the dance horizon for dancers and people interested in dance and provide and outlet for dancers to nave an affordable opportunity to be instructed by experienced and professional choreographers. "Talk back" with the choreographers is a good way to ask a question of the choreographers that are present. Find out how they started, what their best moments are and anyth

ing you've always wondered from a professional. A Banquet will be at the end of the event for everybody to catch with your friends on the experiences of the convention. There is a short show put together with a slideshow of picture that where taken during the event.

The Movement Dance Convention is an Annual Dance Convention held during the spring semester of college at the SUNY New Paltz Campus. The Committee starts planning for the next convention over summer vacation and all of the Fall semester. There are choreographer from 'Steps on Broadway', 'Broadway Dance Center', choreographers who choreographed and/or performed on Broadway, Alumni from New Paltz, and professionals from many different places around NYC!

This is an experience that can be affordable to anyone and everyone so you can meet choreographers who are established in the professional world and you can get advice from the best on what you should do to start out a career in dance or even just share a good laugh with all of us! Any way you want to experience it, you will have a blast!!

Unfortunately there will not be a dance convention this spring. There was difficulty getting the money for this semester. No worries though because we will be back this fall for you to all have a wonderful time!
