Mushroom Shed

Mushroom Shed is a shed that will house edible and medicinal mushrooms grown on spent beer grains and coffee grounds from local businesses in New Paltz, NY. The Shed will be built as an extension of the Reformed Church’s community garden. Mushroom Shed is a shared space for educational workshops, discussions, meetings, community dinners and more. We are planning a Mushroom Festival for the grand opening of the shed on May 10th, 2019 at the project site at 92 Huguenot Street. There will be mushroom beer, mushroom chocolates, mushroom yoga, mushroom art, grow your own edible and medicinal mushrooms, a mushroom spa, mushroom tote bags, shirts, and more!

The shed will be modeled after a community smokehouse on Huguenot Street built in the 1700's that was a shared space for the community to smoke their meats.
