At Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts (*featuring The Big Easy Babes and a live band*) the shows are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Dec. 19, 7 p.m. Sunday and 2 p.m. Dec. 21. Tickets start at $53. Visit rivertowntheaters.com.

At the French Quarter's Historic BK House & Gardens (*piano accompaniment only*), the concert will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 18. Tickets start at $30. Visit bkhouse.org.

"At the meeting, Payton played two of Domino’s biggest hits, 'Ain’t That a Shame' and 'Blueberry Hill,' and asked his players and coaches how many of them had heard of the legendary pianist, who was born and raised in the Lower 9th Ward neighborhood of New Orleans. Only a handful of people in the room raised their hand...

'It hit me, but it also upset me, relative to this icon, who was born in this city,' Payton said to the players and coaches at the cemetery in a video of the visit posted on his social media account. 'We should know who Fats Domino is.'"

Before The Big Easy Boys, we were just buddies. "Beach Buddies," that is. As we celebrate the life of Brian Wilson, we want to thank him for his gift of music that inspired our group's formation 15 years ago.
