Here’s another great chat with a very smart cookie. I had a chance to talk with Rabbi Josh Rose on his podcast last week and again I really think you should check it out. Called “Can Americana be Jewish” in his introduction he really does a fine job of describing my work. Much like my conversation with Avrum last week, I had a chance to lay out what I’m about and how I got here. We talk bluegrass, my local papers response to my work, Jewish ethics, the Rubin family latke recipe and unlike anyone thus far he identifies my true roots. Amazing night at The Stone at with for a night of Yiddish music performed upon the banjo and trumpet. Then ably supported by an all star ensemble of , and .licht.71, who took the pics. It was hell coming home with all the flight delays but the experience of sharing the music was well worth it.

I met this nice lady today, heard her talk and then bought her book. If you had ever asked me what my political affiliation was I would reply “Bundist.” I was only half joking. Now with her New York Times best selling book maybe people will know what I’m talking about.

Alas, when I performed at the The Boston Festival of New Jewish Music recently, towards the end of my show my voice got froggy and I had to cut it short. To try and rest my chops I do a little thing I call "Questions, Comments and Concerns" where I stop the show and open up the floor for questions. Boston asked some good ones.
