For years they told us our voices didn’t matter. Still we sing.
For years they tried to silence us. Still we sing.
Today we’re honored to announce the theme for BlackAmericana Fest 2026:
Still We Sing: Black Protest Traditions in Americana
With the recent gutting of the Voting Rights Act and the deplorable actions by state legislatures across the Deep South to reduce representation of Black voters, it feels more important now than ever that we lean on our ancestors’ wisdom, organize, resist, protest, and recommit to the idea that justice, liberty, and freedom are for all of us.
Through music, conversation, and community, we will honor the long tradition of Black protest music and the artists carrying that spirit forward today.
Join us Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26 for a joyful celebration of Black roots music and traditions featuring Seratones, Trey Wellington, The Kentucky Gentlemen, Joy Clark, and more 💫
Tickets on sale in July.
