Hello America! We’re feeling the pinch, too 🇺🇸💸
We’re not happy about the recent changes in US customs regulations either.
We’re doing our very best to keep import duties for you as low as possible. Normally, EU goods are charged 15% duty, but when US Customs mistakenly classifies products as originating from China, the rates skyrocket — something completely out of our control.
We truly hope these conditions will improve in the future. When the time comes for the next presidential election, please keep this in mind, as it directly affects small businesses like ours and your costs as customers.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding ❤️

Sad news ahead for BEW Veterans. Dale, the owner of Chickie Wah Wah has passed away. His venue played host to BEW 3, my personal favorite gymkhana we ever held. I think it was also BEW 5 where our musical entertainment Davis Rogan was so drunk he passed out on stage at his keyboard and Dale was so pi**ed at him, the following day while filming an episode for the HBO series Treme, Dale managed to get a line in the show telling the fictional character Davis McAlary he would not be welcome at Chickie Wah Wah for his "antics". Fun fact, Treme wanted to film at Chickie Wah Wah the day of our event and Dale wouldn't have it. He made them reschedule. HBO was clearly paying way more money than us, but we were local and we had a handshake deal. He was a true man of his word.

Dale Triguero, proprietor of the Canal Street music venue Chickie Wah Wah, died Thursday at University Medical Center of complications following heart surgery. He was 68.
