Mélange is seeking passionate movers to join our dance family!
We are a contemporary dance company whose mission is to present original and meaningful dance works that educate, entertain, and inspire, portraying pertinent narratives that encourage a shared sense of humanity. We aim to reflect on our past, examine our present, and manifest a more just and equal future for all beings with collective action.
As our performances are highly narrative driven and often theatrical in nature, we are seeking expressive and dynamic professional dancers who are proficient in ballet, modern, jazz, and contemporary dance. Mélange productions often confront sensitive topics as a necessary step towards initiating positive change. We encourage submissions from dance artists who are willing to participate in discussions and are interested in growing together as open and informed artists. Our goal is to create a safe (and fun!) space for our dancers to harness the power of dance together!
As Mélange was born drawing inspiration from the beauty and strength in diversity of our dancers, we welcome dance artists of all cultures, backgrounds, identities, abilities, and techniques to apply!
We are casting a limited number of dancers in our upcoming full length production, RISE for Mother Earth, to premiere at the Marigny Opera House on November 11, 12, and 14, 2021. Dancers must ideally be available to rehearse on Sundays between 10-2pm and Tues/Thursdays from 7-9pm. Tech rehearsals are mandatory. Dancers are paid per hour spent rehearsing, performing, etc. and are paid at the end of the production.

Covid-19: please wear a mask for warmup, and if vaccinated, you may take your mask off for choreography portions.
