Beginning today, August 3rd, submissions are officially open for the first edition of The Black Papers 👉🏾 a powerful storytelling, visual arts, and creative writing project curated by Donney Rose of Artists At Work and spearheaded by Ashé Cultural Arts Center's I Deserve It (IDI) program.

We're seeking Black New Orleans-based:
🖤 Poets
📖 Creative Writers
🎤 Storytellers
🎨 Visual Artists
🎶 Musicians
🎥 Community Members (Filmed Testimonials)

If you have lived experience, or have cared for someone affected by heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, hypertension, cancer, diabetes, or mental illness👉🏾 we invite you to share your story through art.

Selected works will be featured in print editions of The Black Papers, published online, and participants will be invited to future symposiums, panels, and community conversations.
