This is Claudia. I don't even know how to process my sadness. My very first night in New Orleans in 1992 I sat in the window at Checks and watched the sun come up. I knew New Orleans was my home and Checkpoints was magical. I was sooo privileged to manage this icon for 10 years. I want everyone to know I tried my best to preserve it as a music club before I left; but the owners wouldn't work with me. RIP to an amazing venue. My sadness is overwhelming.

OFFICIALLY CLOSED OUR DOORS as of NOW.
There has been potential buyers on and off for several years now, but papers were signed this morning.
No Goodbye shots or shows.
The staff here wishes we had the opportunity to give some notice. 🍻 We would love to have our regulars sit at the copper top and have their usual with us while The Unnaturals, Suplecs, RottenCores, Oh Dang Bruh Y?! and Ill Funeral played us out!
Wish all y'all were here sharing your most insane memories from this crossroads corner. 🤬 Write it in the comments if you can share! We still wanna know the stories and try to figure out if we were there or involved in the madness.
This block has always been locals and lit, but now it's just going to be Baby Bourbon St. and bu****it.
Thank you for the good times and the confusing ones. Thank you forever Lower D Fam. Thank you to the regulars and the irregulars.
We never loved you, but we always loved how much you wanted us to!
