Today was a truly special day as we celebrated and honored Big Chief Monk. Congratulations to him on this well-deserved recognition! His years of hard work, dedication, and commitment to preserving our culture have left a lasting impact on the city and its people.

To have a street officially named in his honor is an incredible achievement and a testament to his legacy. What an honor for a Black Masking Indian from the city of New Orleans to receive such a distinguished tribute. We salute you, Big Chief Monk, and thank you for all you have done for our culture and community.
