Starting THIS Wednesday 6/3. Come get your shimmy on from the ground up. This series is rooted in Belly Dance and somatic exercises from Dancemeditation, but it’s great for any style of dance that calls for juicy powerful hips and chests. We’ll connect the soles of our feet to our pelvic floor, increase hip mobility, find fluidity and get some nervous system benefits too. Shimmying, shaking, and vibrating help us release stress, get our blood pumping, and throw off the blahs. 7 classes for $70. $15 Summer Drop In Rate. DM to register. Tsiftiteli is the style of belly dance that originated in Greece and Asia Minor Greek communities. This workshop will give students the opportunity to learn a bit of the history that shaped this dance and music, a framework to understanding the basic steps and ‘feeling’ of Tsiftiteli, as well as a few different types of music within Tsiftiteli culture through the years. This workshop will give students a few different combinations that can be incorporated into their own dance. The vibe is FUN and FREE! OPA!
