Last night was a blast 💥
Thank you to all three amazing contestants for presenting quality packages true to themselves. You all shined on that stage and we can see why the competition was so close.
Congratulations to our new Miss Gay Lagniappe America, The Dutchess Donatella! You are stunning and you have only scratched the surface of your potential. We cannot wait to work with you and see what you can do at MGLA!
Simone Rishard, congratulations on your ticket to MGLA. You are a true professional in every situation and carry yourself with such grace. We look forward to getting to know you better and supporting you on the rest of your journey.
Monique Michaels-Alexander, you already know how proud of you we are. Thank you for being a part of Lagniappe and a true friend. Your talent is undeniable and we can't wait to see where you go from here.
Our judges had their work cut out for them, but they rose to the occasion and we couldn't be more thankful! Mercedez Henry-Stanley, Chelsea Divine, Amberly Scott, Gregisms, & Josalyn Royale, thank you for your time and professionalism. A huge shout-out to our tabulator, Michael Strickland, who has been with us since year 1 and was the recipient of the first Fancy Rae Douglas Shugg Award.
Nicole DuBois, there is a reason we have you back year after year. Thank you for your wit and skills on the mic as well as entertaining the crowd. Emcee of the year for sure!
Aubrey Synclaire, you are the reason we are in this mess, lol. We love you and appreciate all of the support you give us.
Britney Marks, you were STUNNING as Wonder Woman all night long. Thank you for all of the conversations and assistance you gave (especially at the last minute! Whew!).
This prelim would not have happened if not for the production team of Portia Michaels and Ryan Darby alongside the House of Blues New Orleans team. You are the real superheroes of the night. THANK YOU for taking the reigns and running a smooth show.
Muffy Blake Vanderbilt III and JayBee - thank you for embracing the theme and bringing your elevated comedic drag to our stage. You both brought the house down and had us in stitches. We love you both to pieces.
Royaltie Davenport Kreshe, you looked amazing and your energy was infectious! Thank you for gracing us with your spotlight number and we look forward to seeing you again at MGLA.
John Delgadillo, our original Lagniappe, thank you for your support always! Congratulations on your Shonda Le Kai award. There is not a more deserving recipient. You truly embody the spirit of Lagniappe.
A special shout-out to the promotors of Miss Gay Southern Belle America who sponsored two of our contestants and showed their support for us every step of the way. Amanda Rose Andrews, our newest "Extra", we hope that last night was everything you hoped. This past year getting to know you has been exceptional. Your heart is the biggest and your love is all encompassing. The world and drag community are better having you in it. We are here if you ever need us.
