Dear Ghost Manor friends and neighbors,

After 13 wonderful Halloweens together, we have some disappointing news: Ghost Manor will not happen in 2025.

A major Magazine Street road work project just caught us by surprise. Construction began this week and will last three months—right through Halloween. It involves detours that bypass the neighborhood and will result in increased local cross-street traffic right where the crowd would be. With these constrained access routes for our 10,000+ annual visitors, we simply can't create the Ghost Manor experience under these conditions.

Though this wasn't originally our plan, we're excited to finally visit many of the amazing local Halloween attractions and events we've been too busy to enjoy! Please join us in supporting these local Halloween activities that make New Orleans so wonderfully spooky and the best place on earth to celebrate the season.

This pause also gives us time to rest, refresh, and dream up new frights and innovations. Ghost Manor has been our family's labor of love, and we hope to return in 2026 (or as soon as we're truly ready) with even more magic and whimsy.

Thank you for 13 years of cheers, laughs, and unforgettable October nights. You've made this journey more incredible than we ever imagined.

Proud to announce our latest character, “Dwight” has won three awards! Home Haunters Awards for “Best Motorized Prop” and the highest honor of “Best Overall” and the Canadian Haunter Award (open to international nominees) for “Best Animated Prop”. The entries are submitted and judged throughout the year and awarded during or just before the following Halloween season. So the 2023 awards just came out and we’re super happy and excited. “Dwight” has been a labor of love for many years and was finally completed last year and has taken on expanded roles at the center of the show this year and hopefully for many more to come.

He’s gotten some upgrades, as recently as last season when the pedipalps for the animatronic mechanism were 3D scanned and digitally resculpted to improve performance. There’s a bonus video at the end with a clip of him singing!

I built this animated creature from scratch, heavily inspired by the spider-like "Gray Widower" in the Stephen King novella, "The Mist" as well as the movie (and the amazing props in it by the legendary Greg Nicotero) and other depictions based on it.

UPDATE! Thanks to everyone's generous support, we were able to add more dates this season and beef up security... we are adding Saturday and Sunday, October 21 and 22, Friday and Saturday October 27 and 28, and Halloween night October 31st.
