Satchmo SummerFest celebrates the life, music, and legacy of Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong at the Louisiana State Museum's Old US Mint during the month of August. The two day festival features intellectual seminars from well-known jazz and music scholars along with two days of never ending music from a variety of genres ranging from traditional and contemporary jazz to brass bands and more.

What a way to kick off Day 2 of Satchmo SummerFest! 🎺

This morning, one of our favorite traditions returned as the Satchmo Salute Parade stepped off following Jazz Mass at St. Augustine Church, filling the streets with the spirit of New Orleans.

A special thank you to NOTCF for supporting this celebration of our city’s incredible music and culture.

The music is still going strong, so there’s still time to join us at the New Orleans Jazz Museum. Come on out and celebrate with us!

What a way to kick off Satchmo SummerFest! 🎺 From incredible performances and delicious food to nonstop dancing and unforgettable moments with our community, Day 1 was one for the books.

The celebration continues tomorrow! Join us for the annual Jazz Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, followed by the beloved second line parade to the New Orleans Jazz Museum at 11:15 a.m. Then stick around for another full day of music, food, and fun.
