✨I’m hiring an assistant!  Be part of an innovative & growing creative business!

Ficus Ceramica is …. a production slipcasting studio owned and operated by Kate Clarke, as a full time business since 2020.  I’m located in the Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans.  I use molds of real things to cast in porcelain, then glaze and fire in-house.  I sell at art fairs, online, and occasionally wholesale.

Artist Assistant Job Description
This is a flexible position to assist me in a variety of different aspects of my business: administrative, creative, and practical art studio maintenance.

Starting pay is $18, but pay will increase as the assistant gains skills and competency.  There is a lot of room in this position to grow, as Ficus Ceramica is evolving!  We will roll with your strengths.

We will start with a couple days per week, to settle into working well together, then build up to a fuller schedule. I will teach and supervise my assistant to the point that we both feel comfortable with their working independence.

Visit the linktree in my bio to find the application, with a lot more detailed info. Application open through May 31

I just got back a few days ago from Puerto Rico!! I needed a nice treat and a break after all the crazy work over the last couple months. My first time in PR and I’m already planning to going back. I saw the bioluminescence in Mosquito Bay on Vieques, dived with turtles in San Juan, stayed in a sick historic apartment in Old San Juan, and discovered that I like aged rum a lot.
