The phenom. The Kidd. Heβs been around for quite a while, as a DJ and turntablist since before he was even a teenager. With almost two decades in the saddle, heβs clocked in as many years in the booth as much of the older generations of New Orleans DJs.
Donβt let the easygoing demeanor fool you - Kidd Love can run laps around anyone, both on the decks and in the studio. Thereβs very few, perhaps about a handful of people in New Orleans who have the body of work thatβs deserving of a title belt in both DJing and producing. Kidd Love is one of them. He can scratch, beat juggle, play vinyl, play open format, blow the roof off a club set, even soundtrack a casual weekend BBQ. Now thatβs range.
Kidd Love does it all with the feeling, focus, and a flicka da wrist that shows us that heβs still having fun with it. As resident for BPM Sundays at the Dragonβs Den, heβs been a longstanding part of the venue considered by most to be a nightlife institution in New Orleans.
As head of Data Science Recordings and founding member of the Inner City Electro Network, heβs also been putting in ground-level work to push electro in the Gulf South. Under the CHEMIKAL alias heβs released original productions and collaborations of heavy, acidic electro thatβs seen support from OGs around the country.
