There’s nothing better than seeing kids completely absorbed in the creative process. This video from our recent Abrakadoodle camp captures those little moments—mixing colors, trying new materials, making decisions, and discovering what they can do.

Every clip shows a child learning, growing, and expressing something uniquely theirs. It was a joyful, art‑filled week!

What a blast!

There’s something so special about seeing a child completely absorbed in their own ideas — experimenting, exploring, and discovering what’s possible when there’s no “right” or “wrong” way to make art.

This timelapse captures the heart of process art:
🎨 Freedom to explore
🖍️ Confidence in their own choices
🧠 Creative problem‑solving
đź’› Joy in the journey, not just the final piece

When children are given open‑ended materials and the space to follow their imagination, they learn to trust themselves. They learn that their ideas matter. And they get to experience the pure delight of creating something that comes from within.

Art isn’t about perfection — it’s about expression, curiosity, and the courage to try. And kids are the masters of that.

✨ “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” — Picasso

Here’s to nurturing creativity, celebrating the process, and watching young artists shine. 🌟

🎨 Celebrating Ms. Denise Brown! 🌟

We want to take a moment to brag on one of our amazing Abrakadoodle teachers, Ms. Denise Brown. She teaches at St. John Lutheran School and leads our integrated art program there, bringing creativity and confidence to students every single week.

Through Abrakadoodle, St. John Lutheran and our partner schools get a full, high‑quality art program that goes above and beyond national visual arts standards. Denise brings that curriculum to life in the most thoughtful way. Her classes are full of imagination, collaboration, and those little moments where you can actually see a child light up with an idea.

The students adore her. Our team adores her. She has been such a wonderful addition to the Abrakadoodle family and to the St. John Lutheran community. We appreciate her more than we can say, and we are so grateful for the way she inspires the next generation of creators, one class at a time.

Here’s to you, Denise. Thank you for everything you bring to your students and to our program. 💛🎨

Mardi Gras Camps were bursting with color, culture, and imagination as we celebrated both Mardi Gras and Brazilian Carnival.

Students explored the vibrant world of Brazilian artist Leonor Brazão, learning about her joyful use of color, murals, and collaborative artwork. Inspired by her piece “Brazilian Fruits,” our young artists worked together to create a giant mural filled with bold, colorful fruits — each section shaped by their own ideas and artistic choices.

After learning about the artist and the traditions behind Carnival, students were given simple starting points and then encouraged to follow their own creative path. The results were as unique as each child: expressive, playful, and full of personality.

We love watching our students discover what they can do when they’re trusted with freedom, inspiration, and a blank “canvas” to explore. 💛🎨

Every shape, curve, and tiny detail you see was a choice. A moment of imagination turned into something real. Every curve tells a story!

That’s the beauty of clay work in our camps. Kids slow down, explore possibilities with their hands, and discover how their ideas take form one decision at a time. Their creativity is always the star. 💛✨
