Our mission is to enrich lives through vocal harmony across Greater New Orleans, welcoming singers of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Founded in 2023, we provide a welcoming musical home where singers of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can learn, grow, perform, and build lasting connections. Our repertoire includes barbershop, jazz, contemporary a cappella, and music inspired by the rich cultural traditions and creative spirit of New Orleans. Through public performances, community events, rehearsals, workshops, vocal coaching, quartet and small-ensemble development, and music education, NOLA Vox brings people together through the joy of singing. We also inspire the next generation of vocal musicians through school partnerships and the NOLA Vox Youth Harmony Festival. We proudly collaborate with local musicians, composers, educators, schools, festivals, and community organizations to expand the reach of vocal harmony throughout our region. Last night was all about ringing chords.

We were thrilled to welcome coach Darin Drown to New Orleans for an evening of work focused on sound, phrasing, placement, and finding those moments when everything locks in.

One of the things we value most at NOLA Vox is a culture of collaboration and continued learning. Our director, Cassie Schmitt, connected with Darin through her experiences at Harmony University over the past two summers, where Darin leads the program, and we were excited to bring that connection home to work with our singers.

Hear from our 2027 clinician, Justin P. Miller, as we get ready for the 2nd Annual New Orleans Youth Harmony Festival on Saturday, February 20!

Hosted by NOLA Vox, this FREE event for singers in grades 8–12 features vocal workshops, hands-on coaching, ensemble singing, and an evening concert featuring some incredible a ca****la groups and YOU!

🎶 Big news for the 2027 New Orleans Youth Harmony Festival!

We’re proud to share that this year’s festival is being presented with support from the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival & Foundation! The New Orleans Jazz and New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation uses the proceeds from the festival, plus other raised funds, for year-round programs in the areas of education, economic development, and cultural enrichment.”

Their support helps us continue making this experience FREE for student singers in grades 8–12 — giving young musicians from across our community the chance to learn, perform, build confidence, and experience the power of vocal harmony together.

A great night of music, community, and collaboration.

NOLA Vox was glad to share the stage with Nocturne Quartet and Family Ties Quartet, with all three groups coming together during the evening for two songs.

That kind of collaboration is a big part of what we want to keep building in New Orleans: more singers, more groups, and more opportunities to make music together.

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the show.

And best of luck to Nocturne Quartet and Family Ties Quartet as they head to the Southwestern District Contest next week. We’ll be rooting for you.

We’re closing out a busy month of music with one more night of singing in New Orleans.

NOLA Vox will join Nocturne Quartet and Family Ties Quartet for an evening of a ca****la and barbershop harmony as both quartets prepare to head to Southwestern District competition next week.

It’s also a chance to bring our communities together on stage, with NOLA Vox and the quartets joining forces for some shared singing along the way.

Nocturne Quartet Family Ties Quartet

Yesterday morning, members of NOLA Vox had the honor of singing the National Anthem at the Travis Manion Foundation’s New Orleans 9/11 Heroes Run.

We’re grateful to have been a small part of a meaningful morning honoring those we lost, those who served, and the heroes who continue to inspire us through lives of service.

And because it was a September morning in New Orleans, the cicadas decided the quartet needed a few extra background singers. 😄

Thank you to the Travis Manion Foundation, the organizers, volunteers, participants, and everyone who came together to remember and honor. 🇺🇸

We’re excited to join our friends in Nocturne Quartet, along with Family Ties Quartet from Baton Rouge, for a great night of a ca****la music on Friday, September 25!

This one is especially fun for us because we get to share the stage with some fantastic singers and help send Nocturne off as they prepare for the Southwestern District Quartet Contest.
