Raks el Anwar

Raks el Anwar is in actuality no longer a group. We were located in Massachusetts and then Southern California. On moving to Eastern Tennessee we dicided to keep our enrgies in promoting the dance through Coaching and Lecture/Demonstrations. There is too much work to be done here before a dance company will be formed again.

This page is really non existent since Raks el Anwar even though still my registered name completed its last show last August. At this point I have no desire to ever have a group again. BUT then you never can tell! For updates check Cedar Productions page. Can Dancer&Drummer be Raks el Anwar too?

We have been very busy. There is no more Raks el Anwar. Those days are over.We are now under CEDAR Productions and promoting other peoples dancers.

Raks el Anwar should be very proud of themselves. Even though I was not there. The feedback I received on your performance was so inspiring. Thank you for the great performance and also for helping Elena with her Russian Gypsy Dance. You ladies are an asset to the Belly Dance world and the community at large. Thank you so much.

Today I give accolades to my dance students who performed last night. You have no idea how much growth was shown last night and it is all because you became committed and worked damned hard at it. You were all awesome. Thank you so much. Lucia thank you for inviting us to this end of the year party. It was fun. Thank you Walid for being both my right arm and my left and also my backbone. And thanks to all the other delightful people that performed and attended Flavors of East Africa last night. It was a pleasure to see you all again. Finally a round of thanks goes to the restaurant for having us there. THANK YOU EVERYONE for ending 2013 in a high note.

NOVEMBER:
November was a great month for Walid and I as far as performing was concerned. Fadi was here Nov 3rd at Haji Baba's SD Then we did 2 shows in Tijuana, Mexico. The first was for a Library presentation and book signing and the 2nd was a concert at the Cultural center.

2014:
Dancers be prepared. Next year is approaching fast. Be the best you can. Let us get it together and be the best we can be. Be committed to dancing and being prepared. The world can be open to you too. Let us enjoy the dance and present it at its best both dance wise and culturally.
