The Garde Arts Center was created in 1985 as a non-profit performing arts organization in order to save and reuse the historic Garde Theatre, one of the few remaining historic movie palaces in Connecticut. Built in 1926 during the golden era of the motion pictures and vaudeville theatres, the recently restored Moroccan interior of the Garde Theatre, along with the new seats and state-of-the-art st

age equipment, provide a very audience-friendly theatre venue in a warm and beautiful atmosphere. Today the Garde is becoming nationally recognized for its unique architecture and multi-faceted programming.

Join us at Fort Trumbull State Park on Thursday, August 13, at 11:00 a.m. as we gather on the waterfront to welcome EAGLE back to her home port, celebrate her crew's accomplishments, and demonstrate why New London is proudly known as Coast Guard City.

Coast Guard City New London invites residents, friends, and supporters from across the region to join us in welcoming the U.S. Coast Guard Barque EAGLE home from her Sail250 voyage.

Over the past several months, EAGLE and her crew have represented the United States Coast Guard with pride, receiving enthusiastic welcomes and drawing thousands of visitors at ports throughout the celebration. Now, after an unforgettable journey, it's our turn to show our appreciation and give America's Tall Ship the homecoming

The kids of Summer on Stage Session 2 take the screen and stage TONIGHT! 🐢🐰

After an incredible week of theater workshops, line-memorizing, and team-building, our second group of Summer on Stage participants is ready to shine!

In partnership with the Missoula Children's Theatre, these talented local youth are putting a hilarious, space-age twist on Aesop’s classic tale in The Tortoise and the Hare! 🌌✨

When Taylor Tortoise and Curly Hare take their rivalry to a whole new level, they set off on an ab-shell-lute whirlwind race to build a rocket ship and become the first talking animals on the moon! Will winning mean losing their friends, or can they learn that working together is the real victory? 🚀🌕

Come out, cheer on our young stars, and enjoy a fantastic, family-friendly musical!

As part of our Centennial Celebration, our incredible volunteers, board members, and community supporters are taking a seat—literally! By dedicating a permanent theater seat with an engraved plaque, they are placing their name, family, or business directly into the historic fabric of our 1926 movie palace.

Our goal is to sell 100 dedicated seats during this historic season!
