10.18.23 - Map #142 Center Pivot Kansas # 2 37*41’23”N x 100*39’00”W. This post has 3 images in reverse order of production. The first image is the current in WIP stage the second a previous state and the 3rd the raw Google Earth shot above Kansas. Each of the circles is a large field that is irrigated with the center pivot method where a large arm of several 100 yards or more is tethered to a central “post” so it traces a large circle - not unlike a dog on a very long chain. The resolution of this particular image is 60 miles so you can get an idea of the size. The intermediate image was achieved by editing the screen shot with simple Apple tools on my iPad, the 3rd and still unfinished image is what I have over painted in Procreate.
