This weekend at New Hope Arts: UNDERSTRØM (UNDERCURRENT) by Europium Dancetheater.

Experience an evening where film, movement, music, and live performance come together in a unique multimedia production inspired by the people, landscape, music, and enduring spirit of Norway.

The performance begins on screen, then transitions into a live Tanztheater performance featuring 10 local dancers, creating one continuous journey from film to dance.

Adding another layer to the experience, the performance will take place surrounded by IN THIS FOREST, Michael Palladino’s solo pop-up exhibition of carved wood works, opening Thursday, October 15 and on view through November 1.

TONIGHT at New Hope Arts, 7–10 PM! 🎶

We are so excited to welcome Clover Stieve to our stage for the release of her debut full-length album, Born to Live.

This one is especially meaningful to us. More than a decade ago, when Clover was still a teenage singer-songwriter, her father, Ted "Theo" Stieve, would talk with such pride about her talent. Theo was a dear friend of New Hope Arts and one of our resident poets, a gifted writer and visual artist whose work and presence meant a great deal to this community. We lost him suddenly several years ago, and tonight, getting to welcome his daughter back as a grown woman releasing her first full-length album feels incredibly special. We know he would be so proud.

"Born to Live" grew out of unimaginable loss. Clover lost both of her parents at just 26, and writing this album became part of the way she found her way through grief, back toward connection, beauty, hope, and life.

Tonight is more than an album release. It is a celebration of resilience, music, memory, and everything that can grow out of the hardest chapters of our lives.

And in true New Hope Arts fashion, music and visual art come together tonight. Clover invited artists to hear the album before its release and create a work inspired by what they heard. The resulting small exhibition will be on view during the concert, a beautiful visual response to Clover and Born to Live.

Joining Clover is James Bird, a poet and musician whose ethereal folk music explores love, loss, mystery, death, and rebirth.

What a fabulous night! ✨🥂

We are still feeling incredibly grateful after last Thursday’s Flappers & Fine Art Gala. An amazing evening like that only happens because so many people come together to support New Hope Arts and believe in what we are building.

Thank you to our generous sponsors, the incredible artists and local businesses who donated, and every person who joined us, bid, raised a paddle, and helped make the evening such a success!

A huge thank you to Tracey Williams, our event chairperson, and the entire Flappers & Fine Art Committee for the tremendous amount of work that went into creating such a memorable night.

And what would FAFA be without Team Fun, Righteous R Jolly, and JaQuinley Kerr? You brought the energy, the laughter, the glamour, and so much fun. Truly the best entertainers around!

It was also our great pleasure to honor Larry Keller, our longtime board member, chairperson, and someone who has supported New Hope Arts for so many years. We were so happy to celebrate everything Larry has meant to this organization.

And then came one of the biggest moments of the evening: Senator Steve Santarsiero and Representative Tim Brennan presented New Hope Arts with a $400,000 grant toward the renovation of our basement into the long-awaited Community & Arts Education Center!!!

This project has been a dream for New Hope Arts for many years, and this extraordinary support brings us an enormous step closer to making it a reality.

To everyone who helped make this night possible --- thank you!!!! We couldn’t do this without you. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Saturday for the opening of Camille Whiteman’s exhibition at The ‘A’ Space!

Camille’s sculptural work combines found objects with beauty, humor, and a darker edge - exploring the complicated relationship between people and the worlds we create and inhabit.

If you missed the opening, stop in Friday–Sunday, 12–5 PM to see the exhibition, and be sure to head upstairs to our Main Gallery for Liberty and Its Shadows: Reflecting on America at 250.
