When we first moved into the boarding house at Merry Oaks Manor, we had squatters!
Tucked in the walls, we found 3 baby raccoons. It was an unexpected first adventure! We called the professionals to safely and humanely remove them.
Several months later, the rest of the raccoon family broke into the old house and trashed it. They ate lollipops (the kind with the gum!), broke open a bag of coffee, ate crayons, broke plates. The mess they made was a disaster!
We've since caught them on our security cameras, hanging out on the 3rd floor of the boarding house, climbing into the attic of the post office, and just being the trash pandas they're known to be.
We've humanely rehomed 2 more adults with many more to go it seems.
Every old house has a story, and this was one of our very first at Merry Oaks.
