Tell me why you like Mondays!
No, seriously. I'll wait.
Can't think of a reason?
Here's one: The next Secret Music Documentary Society lands on Monday, August 17. Suddenly Monday doesn't seem so terrible.
Best Video Film & Cultural Center, Hamden
Come hungry. Come thirsty. Come ready to watch a music documentary selected by an elaborate process involving impeccable taste, questionable judgment, and absolutely no audience input.
Join filmmaker Gorman Bechard and musician Dean Falcone for mystery cinema, pizza, beer, and the kind of post-screening conversation that begins with, "That was incredible," and ends 20 minutes later with, "Wait...who was the drummer again?"
We won't tell you what the movie is. That's the whole point. If we did, we'd have to change the name to the Pretty Well Advertised Music Documentary Society, and that's just not as catchy.
Honestly, this is cheaper than therapy, more satisfying than doomscrolling, and infinitely better than spending 45 minutes trying to decide what to watch on streaming before giving up and rewatching The Office.
🍕 6 p.m. — Pizza, beer, hanging out
🎬 7 p.m. — The mystery begins

Tickets will also be available at the door for procrastinators, impulsive geniuses, and people who just remembered it's Monday and need something to look forward to.
Upgrade your ticket for the glorious combo pizza and beer, courtesy of the pizza-loving heroes at Taste of New Haven. Or just come for the movie. We don't judge...at least not until the post-film discussion.
Afterward, stick around as Gorman and Dean explain why this particular film deserved the Secret Music Documentary Society treatment, why it matters, and why music documentaries continue to be one of civilization's greatest achievements.
It's pizza. It's beer. It's a mystery movie. On a Monday.
