It was a gift to come together to celebrate the music and legacy of Bob Marley through a powerful collaboration with Yendi Songbird and Judah Tribe featuring Josh David Barrett (Tobijah), Wahkiba AL-Kabir Julion, Obed Jean-Louis, Eric Toussaint, and Jeff “Simba” Matthew.

We are deeply grateful to Southern Connecticut State University, the Jamaican American Connection, and all of the "One Love Marketplace" vendors and artists who helped bring this special evening to life.

Two-time Grammy nominee Joshua David Barrett (Tobijah), former lead vocalist of The Wailers, joins the New Haven Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, June 6 at SCSU for a groundbreaking U.S. production celebrating the music and legacy of Bob Marley. 🇯🇲

Barrett has collaborated with artists including Quincy Jones, Kendrick Lamar, Common, Nas, Mary J. Blige, Shaggy, and Skip Marley, bringing decades of reggae, hip hop, soul, and roots music experience to the stage.

This special concert also will feature Vocalist Yendi Songbird and the Judah Tribe Band with Wahkiba AL-Kabir Julion (drums), Obed Jean-Louis (bass), Eric Toussaint (Keyboard), & Jeff “Simba” Matthew (Guitar), all led by NHSO Principal Pops Conductor Chelsea Tipton, II.
