Welcome Miss Julia!

New to Joyful Creations Studio, Julia Sariñana brings a passion for music education and a love for many different musical styles. A California native, Julia has experience teaching students throughout the Midwest and enjoys helping students discover and develop their own musical voices. From a young age, Julia was drawn to Mexican boleros, mariachi, jazz, and oldies music. Her diverse musical background allows her to connect with students who have a wide range of musical interests and encourages her to embrace each student's individual genre curiosities.

Julia earned her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, where she participated in the vocal track and studied piano and flute. After graduation, she taught middle school choir for several years while continuing to teach piano and voice privately.

As an educator, Julia believes in meeting students where they are and creating a safe, encouraging environment where they can take risks, make mistakes, and grow from them. Her goal is to help students become confident, well-rounded individuals. Not only as musicians, but in life as well.

When she's not teaching, Julia enjoys going for runs (or very fast walks!), relaxing at local coffee shops, and heading out for karaoke nights with friends.

Julia is grateful for the opportunity to join Joyful Creations Studio and looks forward to helping her students grow, discover their musical potential, and find joy in making music.

It's that active participation in music that has such an impact. 🎶
