💜 WHEN RECOVERY MEANS REBUILDING YOUR LIFE: In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day, The Human Side of Health presents "Can I Get a Bus Pass?", a short virtual play exploring recovery, reentry, and the everyday barriers people can face while trying to move forward.

Recovery doesn’t happen in isolation. Transportation, housing, employment, relationships, and access to support can all influence a person’s ability to rebuild and maintain stability.

🎭 NORTH CAROLINA: Excited to share that my monologue, “Dear Management,” has been selected for Different Strokes! Performing Arts Collective’s 369 Monologue and Short Play Festival, Part 4: GET UP, STAND UP!

I wrote “Dear Management” in 2020, following the murder of George Floyd. The piece follows Chloe as she records a video resignation, confronting racism in the workplace and reaching a point where staying silent is no longer an option.

It means a lot to see a piece I wrote six years ago continue to find new life on stage.

OVERDOSE AWARENESS DAY, COMING UPON MON, AUG 31ST: Beginning August 31, in recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day, The Human Side of Health will release a series of short virtual plays (videos) exploring substance use, recovery, relationships, stigma, and the human experiences behind the statistics.

Throughout September, in recognition of Recovery Month, we’ll continue sharing these stories and using them to spark conversations about recovery.

Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. It is not always linear. And behind every statistic is a person, a family, a relationship, and a story.

Through theatre and storytelling, The Human Side of Health creates space to explore those stories with greater empathy, curiosity, and understanding.

🎬 Videos begin releasing August 31.
