Maria Caruso and Rearview Mirror
Maria Angelica Caruso is an American born dancer, choreographer, academic, social activist, fitness and wellness practitioner, and entrepreneur whose enterprise encompasses brand models focused in the arts, education, entertainment, and wellbeing sectors. Caruso's multifaceted conglomerate is comprised of five performance companies, a dance conservatory, a fitness program, and a dance movement therapy system, all under the auspices of the Bodiography brand.
The alliance of organizations under her leadership include a production syndicate titled M-Train Productions, fully functional multipurpose dance studio and performance spaces in her Movement Factory and the dance conservatory Bodiography Center for Movement in Pittsburgh, PA, an affiliation with an academic institution of higher learning at La Roche University where she chairs the Performing Arts Department, and a publication known as the Arts Inclusive. All the encompassing entities led by Ms. Caruso's vision are known for their commitment to health and wellness in the arts and their championing of positive change in communities regionally and globally.
Rearview Mirror, is among the most spirited and entertaining ballets in Ms. Caruso’s collection. Originally commissioned by the Avenel Performing Arts Center of New Jersey in 2018, Ms Caruso and her team of artists are thrilled to have evolved the showcase for the Off-Broadway stage at the celebrated St. Luke’s Theater in NYC.
Journey through the 1980s as Bodiography takes the stage with Maria Caruso in the newest rendition of the exciting and action packed, Rearview Mirror. Get ready to watch a decade of iconic sounds come to life in a dance landscape that looks and feels like you are watching MTV for the first time. Join us at St. Luke's Theater, in the summer of 2020, for a retrospective that will engage you from start to finish. With vintage costumes, selected to emphasize and emanate the musical artists and their visions for their music videos, you will be transported to another realm of pleasure through a powerful and entertaining performance of dance.
