Founded in 1958 as a non-profit organization, the New Castle Playhouse has since become one of the country's oldest ongoing community theaters. Now in its permanent home in New Castle's historic South Side, the NCP continues to deliver professional quality performances from a vast range of theatrical works; beloved musicals like "Fiddler On The Roof", "The Sound of Music", and "The Wizard of Oz",

and edgier gems like "Blood Brothers", "Assassins", and "RENT". Our intimate Annex venue offers the best of comedic and dramatic plays, ranging from the dramas of Tennessee Williams to the uproarious comedies of Neil Simon, Woody Allen, and other master playwrights. The NCP also proudly produces Children's Theater for young audiences, such as the annual Stars of Tomorrow talent show, holiday shows, and is home to the NCP Mini Stars. With this in mind, we subscribe to non-traditional and color-blind casting. We Invite the community of New Castle and surrounding areas to become part of our family no matter what ethnic, affectional orientation or disability. The Annex is ready for auditions this week. Are you?

Join us on stage this holiday season for Meredith Willson’s Miracle on 34th Street, based on the classic film.

Auditions:
📅 Monday, August 31 | 6-8:30 PM
📅 Wednesday, September 2 | 6-8:30 PM
📅 Saturday, September 5 | 12-3 PM

Auditions will be held in the Annex theater. We’re looking for adults, teens, and children to join the cast.

The Founding Fathers are taking the stage at the New Castle Playhouse as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with 1776 The Musical!

It’s the summer of 1776, and the Continental Congress is ready to declare independence…if John Adams can convince everyone to agree on it first. From heated debates to unforgettable music, 1776 brings the personalities, politics, and passion behind the birth of our nation to the stage.

**JOIN US ON STAGE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON**

Based on the classic film, "Miracle on 34th Street: The Musical" follows Kris Kringle, a man who claims to be the real Santa Claus and takes a job as Macy’s department store Santa. When his claim is questioned, Kris finds himself at the center of a legal battle over whether he really is Santa.

The courtroom is officially in session! Opening weekend of Law & Order Fairy Tale Unit is here. We’re wishing our youth cast and crew the best of luck as they take the Annex stage.

Our lobby opens one hour before each performance, so come early and be sure to stop by the Gift Shop. Pick up a little something to send backstage to your performer or find a treat for yourself!
