Founded in 1958 as a non-profit organization, the New Castle Playhouse has since become one of the country's oldest ongoing community theaters. Now in its permanent home in New Castle's historic South Side, the NCP continues to deliver professional quality performances from a vast range of theatrical works; beloved musicals like "Fiddler On The Roof", "The Sound of Music", and "The Wizard of Oz",

and edgier gems like "Blood Brothers", "Assassins", and "RENT". Our intimate Annex venue offers the best of comedic and dramatic plays, ranging from the dramas of Tennessee Williams to the uproarious comedies of Neil Simon, Woody Allen, and other master playwrights. The NCP also proudly produces Children's Theater for young audiences, such as the annual Stars of Tomorrow talent show, holiday shows, and is home to the NCP Mini Stars. With this in mind, we subscribe to non-traditional and color-blind casting. We Invite the community of New Castle and surrounding areas to become part of our family no matter what ethnic, affectional orientation or disability. Truth has a funny way of coming out... 🍷

After a fantastic opening weekend, Vino Veritas returns to the Annex Stage for one more weekend of laughs, surprises, and uncomfortable truths.

On Halloween night, four friends share a mysterious blue wine that leaves them unable to hide what they're really thinking. What follows is a hilarious and thought-provoking evening as secrets are revealed, relationships are tested, and masks come off long before the party begins.

🇺🇸 Auditions for 1776 are now open! 🇺🇸

Join us as we bring this Tony Award-winning musical to the New Castle Playhouse stage this fall. There are 24 male and 2 female roles available for performers ages 18+.

📅 In-Person Auditions:
• June 24 | 5:30–7:30 PM
• June 27 | 12:00–2:00 PM
Complete the interest form to secure a time slot.

🎥 Video submissions accepted through June 27 at 12:00 PM.

Prepare a 32-bar selection from the show and the monologue(s) for the role(s) you're interested in. Sheet music will be provided for in-person auditions.

Performances run September 25 - October 4, 2026.

This vibrant, humorous, and inspiring Tony Award-winning musical brings America’s founding to life as John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and the Second Continental Congress debate the future of a nation and the fight for independence.

Audition Dates:
📅 Wednesday, June 24 | 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
📅 Saturday, June 27 | 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
📍 Auditions will be held in the Annex

Roles available for 24 men and 2 women. Open to performers ages 18+.
