A•ONE Returns for Its 76th Year

The 76th A•ONE International Juried Exhibition, on view September 5–October 22, brings together dynamic contemporary work by 29 established and emerging artists from across the country and beyond.

Since 1949, A•ONE has been a signature Silvermine exhibition, showcasing a wide range of artistic voices and approaches. Its history includes celebrated artists such as Louise Nevelson, Elaine de Kooning, and Milton Avery, alongside generations of artists whose work continues to push in new directions.

Presented in conjunction with America250, this exhibition brings Silvermine’s remarkable history to life. Visit the galleries and discover Silvermine’s lasting role as a place for artists and community.

GUILD SUMMER SALON VIRTUAL EXHIBIT
Explore new work by Silvermine Guild artists in painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, fiber art, and more.

There are also plenty of ways to get into the studio this August.

Fall registration opened this week for youth and adult classes and workshops at the School of Art. Discover a class that fits your interests and your schedule.

And there is still time to create this summer with August workshops in encaustic painting, photography, mixed media, sculpture, felting, figure painting, and more.

Three Generations. One Artistic Community.

For more than a century, Silvermine has been a place where artists gather, learn, exhibit, and inspire one another. Sometimes, those connections span generations.

On view in A Place for Artists are works by three generations of one Silvermine family: founding Guild member Edmund G. Davenport, his daughter Diane Davenport Alexander, and his granddaughter Leslie Alexander, a current Guild member.

Reflecting on what Silvermine means to her, Leslie shares:
"Silvermine for me is a family affair, literally and figuratively... Showing here in the beautiful gallery spaces, being part of the gallery and wonderful artist community has challenged my thinking, honed my skills, and brought me back home."

Their story is one of many that illustrates how Silvermine has shaped generations of artists and continues to foster creativity, mentorship, and community today.

Selected artists will be featured at Silvermine Galleries and considered for awards, including the $2,500 Art Prize with Solo Exhibition Opportunity, plus additional awards.

This exhibition celebrates the enduring role creative communities play in our cultural life and the lasting impact of Silvermine's artists, educators, and supporters.
