Magical Music for Life, founded in 1999, is a nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is to use music to better the lives of children. Toward this end, MMFL has produced a wide range of musical projects delivering positive and educational messages to children. These projects include four family musicals (The Adventures of Zak, A Day in the Life of a Child: Musical Revue, Two Little Snowfla
kes, and Russell, the Hermit Crab), which have been performed in professional theaters, schools, libraries, & hospitals throughout the northeast. They have performed at such venues as The White House, United Nations for the first World Autism Awareness Day, Citi Field Stadium, Tribeca Film Festival, and Times Square. Magical Music’s "Songs for Skills" program of educational and instructional songs help children with autism and special needs learn basic social and daily life skills. Not only has the album been a huge success, which is apparent from its frequent download by teachers, parents, and children from all over the world, but a new and extremely needed project has been brought to our attention as a result of this success. This is the production of an album with instructional songs to teach water safety and swimming skills to all children with an additional focus on those children with special needs. With drowning ranked as the leading cause of death in typical children under the age of five and under the age of 14 for children with autism, this album not only will save lives, but also help lower the number of children with permanent disabilities. As statistics show, for every drowning death there are 5 emergency room admissions resulting in brain related injuries. We are currently raising money for the production of this album and hope to introduce it in May-June of 2017.
