Rutgers Q&A RU Queer & Asian

Aiming to be an open forum, safer space, and place of community for AAPI & LGBTQA+ Follow us on Tumblr!

Q&A: Queer and Asian aims to provide an open forum, safe space, and a place of community for Asian American Pacific Islander lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, and allied students. Formerly known as B.R.I.D.G.E., we were founded in 2010 as a discussion group around LGBTQ and Asian identities. We discuss a topic every week about issues in the broader queer a

nd Asian community, but mostly we are a group for folk to have fun, unwind and build a community here at Rutgers. We welcome all who are interested and cannot wait to meet you! We meet every Friday from 4:00pm-5:30pm in the Conference Room of the Asian American Cultural Center (AACC) on Livingston Campus. For more information you can email us at [email protected]

Hey folks! (Very much a) long time no see! We hope that the situation for many of you has been getting better. Since it's the start of yet another academic year, we just wanted to wish everyone a good start to the fall semester, and reaffirm that no matter the circumstances you're in, Q&A will do its best to continue to be a place for support and affirmation throughout the remote semester and afterwards.

On a different note, we'd like to inform interested students that we'll be at the virtual involvement fair to livechat with you! Times and dates TBA later in the week, but we hope to reach as many of you as possible!

Hello all! Hope the first day of classes is going well for everyone.

Manavi is hosting a workshop on September 8th, 2019, from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM. It's in the Red Lion Cafe in the College Ave Student Center. The RSVP link is in the comments below.

Some information about the event:

"What are the things that we're not allowed to talk about? Far too often, topics relating to sexuality, sexual assault, and mental health are silenced in the South Asian community. SASMHA presents a three-part workshop on how sexual and mental health play into the shame and guilt that Desi Americans experience, taking participants on a journey through the Identity, Reality, and Duality that make up our cultural frames. Expect a healthy dose of experiential activities, examples from Bollywood and U.S. pop culture, and frank, refreshing discussion in this interactive, day-long workshop."

Come check us out at the Involvement Fair! We're in the Cultural section, right across from the Second Reformed Church.
