The Center for Latino Arts and Culture was established to advance, research and document arts and humanities scholarship, artistic production and cultural traditions of Latinos in the United States, the Caribbean and the

Americas. The Center sees the arts as the impetus for educational change, bridging communities and improving the quality of life for students, faculty and the community at large. Since 1992, the Center has continued to introduce new art forms through artist and scholarly residency programs; imparting knowledge about Latino/a creativity and scholarly achievements through lectures and conferences; and fostering arts and cultural literacy for youth.

What These Workshops Are:
An Invitation to...
Explore and express your spiritual voice through poetry, sacred texts, music, and other creative practices
Reflect on your voice and personal practices through the lenses of spirituality and wellness
Build community with your peers

What These Workshops Are Not:
These gatherings are not therapy
They are not an invitation to join a faith and/or spiritual group. People of all backgrounds, beliefs, and perspectives are welcome.

We invite participants to arrive with open hearts and open minds. Please plan to attend both days, as Day 1 lays a foundation that will carry us thoughtfully into Day 2.

✨🌀 Join us for Raíces y Comunidad, a Latinx Graduate Student Gathering centered on connection, community, and wellness. Hosted at the Center for Latino Arts and Culture, this gathering is an opportunity to unwind, connect with fellow graduate students, and get to know a cultural space on campus that is here for you. Throughout the evening, you will enjoy good food and have the chance to meet staff from the Center for Latino Arts and Culture and the Office of Graduate Student Life and learn about resources and opportunities available to support you. Children are welcome. This event is part of Mental Health & Wellness Week and will include empanadas, arepas and desert from Merey’s Venezuelan Restaurant, a mini wellness station, community reflection wall, and music! Come as you are, bring a friend, and take a moment to recharge in community. 🌀✨

Pa’lante (Spanish for “forward”) has been encompassing of this year. We invite our Latine graduating students to come and celebrate their tremendous accomplishments with us in their honor.
This celebration is a reminder that our students do not arrive at graduation alone. Their success reflects the encouragement of family members, mentors, faculty, staff, peers, and campus partners like you who helped make this milestone possible. 🎉🎓✨
