This one is more of a risk to post, but here it goes. I was given an unwanted large scale piece of mass produced art--approximately 3ft x 5ft. I knew exactly what I wanted to make on the canvas and where I wanted it to go. I took a chance and made something abstract to match the color scheme of the room. Sometimes abstracts seem too easy or too messy compared to "fine art" but it's not true. The hardest part for me is knowing when to leave it alone and step away. This one is spray paint, acrylic paint, and copper leaf on upcycled canvas. Enjoy!

This was a fun one with a bit of a story. I started painting a riverbend. Then it turned into a wide open sky. More changes, more freedom, and I ended up with one of my favorites-lilypads. Sometimes the best plan is to throw out the plan.

Commissions always present a fun challenge and this one was no different. The clients wanted a mountain scene to highlight their love of nature and hiking, but 3 out of the 4 family members are orange/green colorblind and can't differentiate between the two. I wanted to create a piece with bold colors and contrast that everyone in the family could enjoy. Now it's off to the clients for a final review. Enjoy!

This one is very special to me. I am so excited to share that my piece "Breaking Light" has been acquired by the Gallery at InterCommunity as part of their permanent collection. It joins other works by accomplished artists and helps promote the mission of InterCommunity, providing same day healthcare to those who need it, regardless of ability to pay. The Gallery allows all visitors to experience "the proven health benefits of art" and embraces art as a compliment to health and medicine. I am truly honored to have one of my pieces in their permanent collection.

I'm very happy to share that I have a solo exhibit for the month of August at the Barney library branch of the Farmington library on Main Street. It's an honor to be exhibiting in such a beautiful space!

I am so happy to share that my piece "Green Goddess" was selected for the "DEEP: Roots and Resonance" show. This unique collaboration between the Art League of New Britain and the CT State DEEP allows artists to showcase their artwork for six months at DEEP offices in Hartford and New Britain. I'm glad I can be part of such a unique venture!

Time for a Throwback Thursday. I distinctly remember making this piece in high school in my bedroom using my grandmother's pastel set. Even now, it's still a favorite in my family. Enjoy!

Usually I painted with acrylics but sometimes it's nice to mix things up...this small 5x7 study is with oils and I love the texture the brushstrokes create. Enjoy!
