Mounds View Community Theatre

Mounds View Community Theatre Mounds View Community Theatre Now in our 33rd year, Mounds View Community Theatre presents one high quality summer musical each year.

Mounds View Community Theatre takes its name from the surrounding Mounds View School District, including the cities of Arden Hills, Mounds View, New Brighton, North Oaks, Roseville, Shoreview and Vadnais Heights. MVCT began, in 1983 as a summer theatre experience for students of the Mounds View School District, then, in operated by the city of Mounds View Parks and Recreations, for actors, musici

ans and volunteers of all ages. More recently, Mounds View Community Theatre retained its historic name, but became the all volunteer-run community theatre it is, today.

Mounds View Community Theatre must announce that we plan no summer musical for the summer of 2022. We do plan to return in the summer of 2023. Thank you to all our patrons, volunteers, and performers.

The board of directors of Mounds View Community Theatre announce, after much thought, that there are no plans for a show in 2021. Each performance location remains under construction with no known availability date. The future of safe and legal gatherings in those locations for rehearsals, performances, and audiences is also unknown. We look forward to producing a high quality musical in the summer of 2022.

Dear MVCT Friends,

As many of you know the Mounds View School District has been updating all the schools, including those that have theater facilities in them, so MVCT will not have a stage to call home for the 2020 season. We do look forward to having a brand-new facility at Irondale High School in summer 2021.

There are many other summer theater opportunities for you in the north suburban area: Fridley Community Theater, St Anthony Community Theater, Rosetown Players in Roseville, Lyric Arts in Anoka, Lakeshore Players in White Bear and many more.

Don’t forget about us-- we will be back for a rousing production in the summer of 2021! In the meantime, we will be building up the strength of our board and volunteer network so if you have a little theater bug in you, consider joining us at any of our scheduled meetings (time & place listed on our website) or contact us through our website www.mvct.org or Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/229556740393833/

We thank all our summer staff, actors, musicians, volunteers and of course the patrons that fill the seats and businesses and organizations that have supported us for 36 years. See you in 2021.

Thank you,

MVCT Board of Directors

From all of us at Mounds View Community Theatre...  Thank you for your support.  We hope you enjoyed this past year's performances. We hope you are joining us in looking forward to a new production next year.

What do you do to de-stress?
My go to is exploring local coffee shops ☕️. (Let me know if you need any recommendations) I also enjoy going to yoga and biking around the city (weather permitting).

Most recent show?
This summer I played Aldonza in Man of La Mancha at Mounds View Community Theatre. This role was an absolute dream, it was an honor to play such a strong and dynamic character. I also just finished Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem with the Minnesota Chorale and Minnesota Orchestra. It was a beautiful experience!

What is your job/career (if applicable) outside of opera?
I'm a software / user process designer at Eaton and I also am a cofounder of Monicat Data with my friend Jasmine Russell where we provide tech/data services to creative organizations.

What a wonderful opening night for Man of LaMancha.
One patron offered this comment:
"Must see!!! Fabulous. We went to opening night last evening and were wowed. We’d highly recommend seeing the show. Everything about the production—set, costumes, acting, musical talent, choreography—was Guthrie quality. How fun to have such good theatre so close - Chippewa. Enjoy the show; spread the word!"
