Last night was the perfect way to celebrate an unforgettable season. ✨

Our students had the incredible honor of performing a medley from Disney’s The Little Mermaid at the 2026 Spotlight Showcase.

The Spotlight Showcase is a celebration of the incredible work happening in high school theater across Minnesota, and we are so grateful to have been part of it. It was inspiring to spend the evening surrounded by students who share the same passion for storytelling, music, and live performance.

Tonight, Irondale Drama is honored to perform at the 2026 Spotlight Showcase! After receiving 25 Spotlight awards for our production of The Little Mermaid, our students were invited to perform a medley from the show at the historic State Theatre, an incredible honor that recognizes their dedication, talent, and hard work throughout the season.

We couldn’t be prouder to see our students sharing the stage with some of the most talented high school performers from across Minnesota. Break a leg, Irondale! 💙✨

Huge congratulations to one of our shining stars!! Lilly Grommes just graduated from the UMN with a degree in Theatre Arts Design and Technology! Lilly was a brilliant stage manager in high school, continues along that path, securing several stage management opportunities! Way to go rockstar!!  pictured below with mom, Megan and dad Ben , Proud parents!

🧜‍♀️✨ Life is the bubbles, under the sea AND at the Spotlight Awards because we are celebrating 25 Spotlight Awards for THE LITTLE MERMAID! ✨🐚

We are beyond thrilled to share that our production of Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID earned an incredible 25 awards from Hennepin Arts’ Spotlight Education! 🌊🪸

This production was filled with heart, magic, and so much talent from every member of our cast, crew, orchestra, pit, and creative team. From dazzling performances to breathtaking technical elements, this show truly became part of our world in the best possible way. 🐠💙

We are also so excited to share that Irondale Drama will be performing a medley from THE LITTLE MERMAID at the Spotlight Showcase on June 9th! We cannot wait to bring a little bit of Atlantica to the State Theatre stage! 🫧✨

We are so proud of everyone who helped bring this production to life and so grateful for the support from our community along the way. The seaweed may always be greener, but this moment feels pretty incredible right where we are. 🐚💫

“The One Act Play That Goes Wrong” Congratulations to the cast and crew of Irondale’s 2026 MSHSL One Act Competition show! Irondale placed 1st at Subsections and State Alternate at Section Finals. Shoutout to SAHS Theatre Department for representing section 4AA at state earlier this month. Another great year in the books!
