Twin Rivers sat down with the incredibly talented Remi Mae at Yellowdog Studios to talk about her recent album release, Catch 22, and the unforgettable experience of recording it live in the studio. From rock ’n’ roll and trail rides to holistic living and the tight-knit New Braunfels/San Marcos music community, Remi shared the stories, influences, and experiences that shape both her music and her life.

Remi Mae is a talented singer-songwriter who first made her mark in the Texas country scene with honest songwriting and a sound rooted in country storytelling. However, she’s turned the page and embraced a bold new direction. Trading in her traditional Texas country sound for a rock-and-roll edge, Remi Mae delivers powerhouse vocals, raw emotion, and an unapologetic energy that showcases her evolution as an artist. Her incredible voice effortlessly moves from soulful and heartfelt to bold and commanding, making every performance impossible to ignore.

Her latest album, Catch 22, captures the highs, lows, and lessons that come with growth, proving that she isn’t afraid to take risks while staying true to herself.

Twin Rivers Music Scene had the pleasure of sitting down with Joel Hofmann, owner of the legendary Riley’s Tavern and frontman of the Joel Hofmann Band. We covered everything from how he approaches booking with the unique perspective of both venue owner and artist, the real-life inspiration behind his song “Pecos Jane,” the band’s upcoming album dropping May ’26, and the wildest brawl to ever break out at Riley’s.

Joel Hofmann is a Texas musician, songwriter, and venue owner whose roots run deep in the state’s live music culture. As the owner of the historic Riley’s Tavern in Hunter, Texas — the first bar to obtain a beer license in Texas after the prohibition — Joel has played a key role in preserving one of Texas music’s most iconic stages while continuing to champion songwriters and working musicians. As the frontman of the Joel Hofmann Band, he has released multiple records and built a reputation for vivid, story-driven songwriting that reflects the landscapes and characters of the Texas and American West. Balancing life as both a musician and venue owner, he brings a rare artist-first perspective to everything he does, shaping Riley’s Tavern into a place where history, community, and live music continue to thrive.
