Weekend Update 10/9/2026: Attention Austin City Limits Music Festival Goers! Combine your Music Festival experience with a Super Fun Float Trip on the beautiful spring-fed Comal River at Texas Tubes in New Braunfels, TX, which is about 1 hour 20 minutes from Zilker Park in Austin, depending on traffic, (53 miles total, avoiding toll roads)! Texas Tubes is one of the few Tubing Outfitters still open 7 days a week for Fun Float Trips on the beautiful, crystal-clear, spring-fed Comal River from 10am to 4pm daily! (The 72-degree spring-fed water feels amazing!) Float Trips are taking about 2.5 to 3 hours, give or take, depending on how much you paddle or stop to swim and play, and includes the famous New Braunfels Tube Chute, which is a man-made water slide in the Comal River!

ACL Festival Gates open at noon each day, so a morning float trip could be a great time to float or during any downtime between the Bands you want to see! Texas Tubes has outdoor showers and changing rooms available, and there are many highly rated restaurants nearby for a quick, delicious bite to eat! Weather Update 10/1/2026: Rain is in the forecast as we head into October, along with slightly cooler temperatures. Texas Tubes is open 7-days a week, "weather permitting", hopefully through the end of October! So if we can be open on a light rain day, without any lightning, we will rent tubes to those who don't mind "tubing in the rain"! Tubing in the rain is not for everyone, so you'll have to decide for yourself! We've seen rain in the forecast quite a few times, and then it doesn't rain, so there's no certainty with the forecast, however there is a chance. The following is our 8-day local forecast, if it holds true:

Wednesday 9/23/2026: The 133rd Comal County Fair & Rodeo begins today, September 23rd, and runs through Sunday, September 27th. NOTE: If you're planning on Tubing on Friday, 9/25/26, downtown New Braunfels will be super crowded with street closures from 7am to 1pm for the Comal County Fair Parade Route that begins on Seguin Ave. at Nacogdoches St., going through the Downtown Plaza Roundabout, onto E. San Antonio Street, ending at S. Liberty Street (see Parade Route Map, Street closures, and an Alternate Detour Route Map to Texas Tubes below). This is the perfect time to combine a Fun Comal River Float Trip and the Comal County Fair & Rodeo for an action-packed, entertaining outing with your family and friends! Enjoy a fun float trip in the morning, then head to the County Fair & Rodeo for delicious BBQ and food from other vendors, plus a variety of entertaining events to watch and/or participate in! Tuesday 9/15/2026: When does the 2026 Tube Season end at Texas Tubes? That's the most asked question we're getting now. Last year, Texas Tubes stayed open through October 28th, so we hope to do the same this year; however, we never know the exact date we'll close for the season because it's determined by things out of our control, such as the Weather, Demand, and River Conditions. As long as the weather remains good, river conditions remain good, and there is enough demand to cost-justify staying open, we will remain open! When the time comes, we will POST updates ahead of time of our final closing date on our Website and on our page. The weather has been fantastic for river tubing (see pics!), and the upcoming forecast is calling for more of the same: Sunny and Hot!
