Check out this bee chilling on a Chisos Mountain False Indianmallow! This guy's got a job to do - he's collecting nectar and pollen from this flower, which is one of his favorites. Bees are crucial to pollinating a third of the food we eat, so we need to do our part to protect them and the plants they rely on. Let's show some love for these hardworking pollinators and the environment they call home!

As we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom this Memorial Day, today like everyday I’m thinking about my friend John Kyle Daggett. He made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and now rests in Arlington National Cemetery. We owe a debt of gratitude to him and to all those who gave their lives in service to our nation. Let's honor them by cherishing the freedoms they fought to protect. Please comment below and share with us who you are remembering today. 🇺🇸

When I found this headstone for 9 year old Hilda Pieper. A wave of sorrow washed over me as I realized that this young girl had passed away at the tender age of just nine years old. It's impossible to fathom the immense pain and suffering her family must have endured. The loss of a child is a tragedy no parent should ever have to face. My heart aches for all those who have experienced this unimaginable loss. May we all take a moment to cherish every precious moment we have with our loved ones and keep them close. Hilda, may you rest in peace

Hey yall. If you're looking for a slice of Texas history, you gotta check out the Comal County Courthouse. This place has been standing tall since 1898 and it's a prime example of Romanesque Revival architecture. I mean, just look at the intricate stonework and the soaring bell tower - it's a thing of beauty.

But don't think this courthouse is just for show. It's an important hub for justice and government in the region. You'll find courtrooms, offices, and other facilities inside that are designed to serve the needs of the community. And it's located right in the heart of New Braunfels, so it's always buzzing with activity.

So if you're into history, architecture, or just want to experience something unique in Texas, the Comal County Courthouse is a must-see. It's a piece of Texas pride and a historic landmark that you won't forget. Come on down and step back in time with us!

📣 Calling all history buffs and cemetery enthusiasts! Have you ever heard of Heinrich Mordhorst? This German-born artisan and craftsman left a lasting legacy in New Braunfels, TX with his unique and ornate grave covers and funerary decorations.

Working with cement and seashells, Mordhorst created beautiful designs that can be seen in cemeteries throughout central Texas and as far away as Orange Grove in South Texas. Some of the best examples of his artistry can be found in the Comal Cemetery in New Braunfels, where he is also buried.

Mordhorst was more than just a talented artist, though. He contributed to the economic development of his adopted hometown through his work as a cement finisher, and even helped build the New Braunfels International & Great Northern Railroad Station and houses made of concrete blocks that looked like shaped stone.

Learn more about this fascinating figure in New Braunfels history and pay your respects at his grave and the graves he helped build with seashell decorations. I’ve included a photo of some graves with his seashell decorations.

As I was strolling through the quiet solitude of the graveyard, I stumbled upon this magnificent tree, engulfed in a tangle of vines. It was as if the vines were an extension of the tree itself, a reminder that even in death, life persists.

The vines, with their intricate web of twists and turns, reminded me of the many paths we take in life. Some lead to growth and prosperity, while others may lead to decay and destruction. The tree, standing tall and strong, represented the fragility and resilience of life.

In a place where death is all around us, this tree and its vines were a beautiful reminder that life is all around us too. We must continue to grow and thrive, even in the face of adversity. So let us take inspiration from this tree and its vines, and embrace both the beauty and the challenges of life. 🌿🌳💀
