A Beautiful Southern Wedding at Grove & Vine in Oriental, NC
Some weddings are beautiful. Some are emotional. Some are an absolute party. Kayla and Andrew’s wedding was all three.
This past weekend, I had an incredible time entertaining at a beautiful wedding in Oriental, North Carolina with BTA Entertainment. I was joined by my assistant, Sam, and we had the pleasure of working alongside wedding planners Maranda and Jami with Weddings and Events by Frankie Hill
And what a wedding it was!
Southern Charm at Grove & Vine
The wedding took place at Grove & Vine in Oriental, NC, and if you’re looking for a wedding venue filled with Southern charm, this place delivers.
The property features a picturesque pecan grove, gentle grapevines, tree-covered ceremony locations, and beautiful soft lighting that creates an incredible atmosphere.
There are also several unique buildings on the property, including an 1800s farmhouse with a bridal suite and full kitchen, a groom’s cottage, a beautiful white barn with a large patio, and a gray barn.
And for couples who love beautiful wedding photos, Grove & Vine offers plenty of natural backdrops without having to leave the property.
It’s one of those venues where you can look around and think, “This is exactly what a Southern wedding should look like.”
A Little Weather Couldn’t Stop the Ceremony
Kayla and Andrew reserved their wedding date back in September of 2025, giving themselves a full year to find the vendors they wanted and plan the wedding they envisioned.
As the wedding day approached, the weather wasn’t exactly cooperating.
We had some rain and weather moving in and out during the early part of the day, but the decision was made to move forward with the outdoor ceremony.
The prelude began at 4:00, with the ceremony scheduled for 4:30.
To protect our equipment, we set up underneath the patio. It turned out to be the perfect solution. The sound carried beautifully, and the officiant’s microphone sounded fantastic.
And then came one of those moments that reminds you why you love being part of weddings.
As I watched Kayla’s father waiting to walk his daughter down the aisle, I could see the emotion on his face. He was trying to hold it together, but you could see just how much that moment meant to him.
Then the doors opened.
The beautiful bride appeared.
And suddenly, all the weather concerns seemed unimportant.
The ceremony was beautiful, and just as everything got underway, the sun began peeking through the clouds.
It was perfect.
Cocktail Hour With a Little BTA Touch
While the guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the patio, we kept the atmosphere going with music through a strategically placed hidden speaker.
It’s one of those little details that guests may not even realize is happening—but it makes a difference.
The goal isn’t simply to play music.
The goal is to make the entire wedding experience feel seamless.
“The Groom Told Us All About You!”
Throughout the evening, whenever I introduced myself to guests, I kept hearing the same thing:
“Oh, we already know who you are!”
Andrew had apparently been talking very highly about me.
So… no pressure, right? 😂
I knew coming into the reception that the expectations were high.
And that’s exactly the kind of challenge we love.
And Then the Party Started…
The wedding party entered the reception as a group rather than as individual couples, and then came the moment everyone was waiting for.
Kayla and Andrew entered the room to loud cheers from their family and friends, took center floor, and went straight into their first dance as husband and wife.
From there, the night was officially underway.
Dinner was provided by The Flame in New Bern, and once dinner was finished…
It was ON.
The energy.
The interaction.
The dancing.
The crowd.
The smiles.
The moments.
Everything came together exactly the way we love to do it at BTA Entertainment.
The BTA style. The BTA energy. The BTA experience.
Because we’re not interested in simply standing behind a DJ booth and playing songs.

Then Came One of the Most Emotional Moments of the Night
Later in the evening, Kayla shared a special dance with her mother.
But this wasn’t just another mother-daughter dance.
Kayla then handed her mother off to her mother-in-law.
Why?
Because these two mothers have been best friends since they were 10 years old.
And for all those years, their special song has been “I’ll Stand By You” by The Pretenders.
The surprise meant everything to them.
And I’ll admit it…
Even I had a tear in my eye.
Those are the moments that make being part of someone’s wedding so special.
You’re not just providing entertainment.
For a few hours, you’re invited into someone’s family, their history, their friendships, and some of the most important memories of their lives.
A Love Story That Started at Birth
This wedding also gave me a first.
Kayla and Andrew have actually known each other since birth.
They grew up knowing each other, but it wasn’t until about four years ago that their relationship became something more.
And now, they were standing together as husband and wife.
That’s a pretty incredible story.
